Why a fastener group
built a coating plant
The group forged its first fasteners in 2010 and added its own plating in 2012. As customers moved to class 10.9 and 12.9 high-tensile parts, they needed serious corrosion protection without the hydrogen embrittlement risk of the electroplating route — and that means zinc flake.
Rather than sending parts out and losing control of quality and lead time, the group built its own zinc flake plant and licensed globally proven chemistry for it: water-based GEOPERT® from Zincotec® Korea and solvent-based Zintek® from MKS' Atotech. The people who run this line make fasteners themselves — so the coating is judged the way a fastener maker judges it: by the salt spray report, the torque chart and the batch record.
Today a component can be forged, formed, plated or zinc flake coated and preapplied with thread lockers without ever leaving the group's road in Rohtak. RZF is the corrosion-protection step in that chain, and it carries the same motto every unit carries: Nothing Behind Quality.
